Sleep is one of the four essential pillars of health, alongside nutrition, physical activity, and mental well-being.
Poor sleep can contribute to serious health conditions like cardiovascular disease, obesity, and mental health disorders.
At SLEEPMEDIK, we specialise in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders to help you achieve restorative sleep and improve your overall well-being.
Comprehensive Sleep Medicine Services
At SLEEPMEDIK, we provide holistic, patient-centred care led by accredited sleep experts with international experience. Our multidisciplinary team works in close collaboration – including a Sleep Physician, ENT Surgeons, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Sleep Physiologists, Dentists, and Prosthodontists – to diagnose and treat a wide range of sleep disorders, all under one roof.
We create tailored treatment plans that integrate medical and lifestyle interventions, always focused on individual needs and preferences. When appropriate, we refer patients to trusted clinical psychologists with expertise in CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia) for support with insomnia, anxiety, or depression – issues that can significantly affect sleep quality.
From first consultation to ongoing care, patients remain at the heart of everything we do.

What We Treat
Insomnia
Identifying the causes of poor sleep and offering personalised strategies to improve sleep quality - naturally and sustainably, without dependency on sleeping pills.
Snoring & OSA
Expert care for snoring and sleep apnoea using overnight sleep studies, CPAP therapy, lifestyle changes, and custom-fit mandibular advancement devices.
Central Sleep Apnoea
We assess and treat central sleep apnoea, a condition where the brain intermittently stops signalling the body to breathe, disrupting sleep and diminishing sleep quality.
Sleepiness & Hypersomnia
Helping you manage persistent tiredness and oversleeping by identifying contributing factors and offering treatment to restore alertness and energy throughout the day.
Hypoventilation Syndromes
Assessment and treatment plans for breathing difficulties related to obesity and weakened respiratory muscles that lead to low oxygen and unrestorative sleep.
Parasomnias
We treat disruptive night time behaviours such as sleepwalking, night terrors, and REM sleep behaviour disorder, which may affect safety and sleep quality.
Narcolepsy
Support and treatment for narcolepsy, including sudden sleep episodes, cataplexy, and struggles with daytime alertness, so you can regain control and confidence.
Restless Legs Syndrome
Diagnosis and management of uncomfortable leg sensations and urges to move, which can delay sleep, cause repeated wakings, and impact overall sleep health.
Circadian Disorders
Treatment for body clock issues like shift work disorder, delayed sleep phase, or jet lag - helping you fall asleep and wake at the right times.

Testimonials
I had the privilege of working with Patryk during his locum work with the Hawke's Bay DHB, and I found him to be both approachable and knowledgeable. In particular, he played a key role in streamlining our weekly multidisciplinary meetings, ensuring that the information provided was full, accurate, and delivered in a timely manner. Patryk's contributions made a significant impact on our processes, and I wouldn't hesitate to work with him again.
Colleen Lockwood, Senior Sleep PhysiologistWorking with Dr Szulakowski has been an absolute pleasure. His profound knowledge of sleep medicine, positivity, and guidance made a huge impact, especially when we needed it most. Our service, and by extension our patients, have been truly blessed by his support. Our MDM will forever carry his spirit in its framework.
